So I watched the Oscars tonight . . .

Disclaimer: I don't really care THAT much about the Oscars; however, I usually end up watching at least part of the show every year. I don't have any very interesting observations about the show, but I did learn something very interesting. You know Bret from Flight of the Conchords? One of the greatest comedic musicians of all time? If not, you can see him as the subject of my favorite Flight of the Conchords song, "Bret, You've Got it Going ON":

Well anyway, Bret just won an Oscar! It was for Best Song for "Man or Muppet" in The Muppet Movie. Who would have thought that Bret would go on to win an Academy Award? But he totally deserves it because this song is AMAZING! I mostly think that the Best Song category is pointless, but it deserves to be around just for "Man or Muppet." And now that I know that Bret wrote it, I can hear its musical similarities to the brilliant musical stylings of Flight of the Conchords. But what I want to know is, what happened to Jemaine??? Especially after he supported Bret so beautifully in the song above!
